On a Thursday evening back in October I was lucky enough to attend a special bloggers preview event for Re: So’s SHED Vintage clothing collection. The Soton Bloggers and I (you can find my blog here) could view and shop the collection ahead of its official release – October 21st – and witness a fashion show featuring items of the new vintage range.
Re:So is a student run store housing student creations such as jewellery lines, which the new vintage clothing line joins. The collection is made of pre-loved items or classic 90’s style pieces such as sportswear, mesh, wax jackets, and oversized sweatshirts for both male and females.
During the event, and after the fashion show, we were introduced to the fashion designers – Jasmine and Charlotte – whom mingled with the crowds (alongside the models from the show) so you could chat about the new range with.
All the items are affordable (especially compared to the likes of high street stores’ vintage collections) and I picked up a Vintage grey Adidas t-shirt which I am excited to pair with a pair of mom jeans. I snapped a picture of it, alongside my friend Rebecca’s purchase – this oversized yellow jumper – in the super cute creatively decorated fitting room.
The store’s layout deserves noticeable mention as consideration has been made in terms of décor and creativity. Garments are displayed on innovative clothing displays such as ladders and wall hangings with touches such as fairy lights and ribbon.
If you’re interested in taking a look at the vintage range or any other collections, The Retail Solent Initiative, or Re:So, is located just above Starbucks in the Marlands Shopping Centre, Southampton. You can also find them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
