On the 3rd of November, the latest expansion pack for The Sims 4 arrived! I was very excited to get my hands on the game and start playing but I found that I quickly became bored.
The latest expansion sees your sims living in apartments in the new Town of San Myshuno.
The new apartments come in different sizes and range in prices. One of the more notable differences is the new lot traits. Some traits add unique qualities (such as the historical lot trait) whereas others just become really annoying – such as the gremlins lot trait where a anything that breaks, will. This becomes annoying and frustrating really quickly and I found myself cheating to give my sims enough money to move out.
The expansion also introduces festivals. Each one is different and exciting to explore the first few times they appear, but after a while, I found them repetitive. You can now give your key to sims of your choosing, as long as you don’t mind then randomly popping over and basically stealing food from your fridge.
Other than a couple of new traits, some new clothing options and the new apartments; there was nothing about the new expansion that kept me interested for more than an hour. As a whole, the sims 4 hasn’t been a very successful generation for the sims franchise for me.
