On Thursday 26th January, Hollywood Bowl celebrated its VIP Launch with a select number of Southampton based bloggers.

Hollywood Bowl is one of the newest attractions to feature in the Westquay South “Watermark” building, and boasts not only multiple bowling lanes but also a games arcade area and bar/diner meaning everything is easily accessible all under one roof.

Acting as an attraction for events such as kids’ parties, staff work dos, there is also the opportunity to upgrade to the VIP Lane which has more intimate seating, monogrammed bowling balls and neon bowling pins as opposed to standard white.

The centre boasts special offers such as “Bowling and a Bar – two games and a drink for £10.99. (Available Sunday 4pm to Friday 6pm), which is perfect for student budgets! There’s also even a handy “book online” section where you can guarantee your spot – all of which can be found on the website

Noticeable decor inside included neon signs and large murals of Hollywood icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Elvis Presley

On the night myself and my fellow bloggers were treated to food and drinks at the diner style restaurant on site. Items on offer included veggie burgers, popcorn chicken and hot dogs, champagne and juice before the official ribbon cutting ceremony with Marilyn Monroe.  There was also the opportunity to have pictures taken with Marilyn at the monogrammed “Hollywood Bowl” wall and balloon archway.

Then, of course, we all bowled (albeit badly in my case though I did score a not too shabby 91! The highest scorer from the bunch then had the opportunity to write their scores on a large leader-board that highlighted “kids” and “big kids”.

Hollywood Bowl is now fully open to the public – directions and opening time details can be found on the website.

Thank you again to Hollywood Bowl for hosting the event!
